Do You Want to Write a Book?

Image
Writing a book has been an integral part of my life bucket list for as long as I can remember. I've made several attempts to start a novel but I never end up writing a substantial amount. I can picture the entire story in my head perfectly but having it come to life, or having it typed to life as it were has proven to be quite difficult. I attended a writing camp this summer and gained some inspiration for a new book that I began to write. I wish I continued my work throughout this year with more dedication, and I find myself coming back to it periodically. I make some edits, minor changes, maybe add a few sentences because I don't feel motivated to make a great effort to continue. My favorite part of the process was coming up with the characters but I just wasn't driven to write out their stories. I consider myself passionate about writing and I love telling stories but for the most part it is difficult to make progress on my book. Time and time again, I feel spontaneo...

Sneakerhead vs someone who enjoys shoes

Image
The Differences Between a Sneakerhead and Someone Who Enjoys Shoes     Sneakers have been on the rise over the past decade. They have overtaken the fashion world by storm. Some people have taken this opportunity to sell, trade, and collect sneakers. These people are typically called sneakerheads. On the other hand, people, such as myself, enjoy having different types of sneakers and seeing them as something you wear on a daily basis. However, people who enjoy sneakers sometimes are labeled as sneakerheads. This blog will explain the difference between the two.      Sneakerheads are typically people who dedicate time to selling, buying, and trading sneakers. Many of the sneakers they buy sell out really fast and are hard to come by. Many sneakerheads tend to buy these types of shoes so they can resell them and make a profit. For example, many people (along with many sneakerheads) try to buy Air ...

The Tale of Hanako-kun: No. 7 of the School's Seven Mysteries

(contains minor spoilers!) Book review for Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun By Ceyda Urcan     In this book review, I am talking about Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun by Aidalro. Despite its interesting title  Toilet-bound Hanako-Kun is an entertaining manga with a gorgeous art style to match. In Kamome Academy, rumors circulate about the school's seven mysteries. The story follows high schoolers Yashiro and Minamoto, as well as your friendliest ghost around the hall, the seventh of the seven mysteries, Hanako-Kun. As a trio, these three destroy evil supernatural and change rumors to maintain the balance between the spirit world and the human world.      I really love how the character's relationships grow throughout the book. The first example is Yashiro and Hanako-Kun. In the beginning, their relationship was purely transactional. This is shown on page 7 when Yashiro visits Hanako-Kun because of the rumor that he can grant wishes. Yashiro wishes for her crush to like her ...

My Take on The Jungle Book - Book Report by Isaak Kumar     The Jungle Book is a novel written by Rudyard Kipling in 1894 in. Set in the jungle regions of India, this book follows a young orphan, Mowgli, as he is raised by a pack of wolves after barely surviving an encounter with Shere Khan, the man-eating tiger that killed his parents. He is slowly taught the Law of the Jungle by a sympathetic sloth bear and grows stronger to avenge his mother and father and face the deadly tiger.      " The Monkey-Folk... have no speech of their own, but use stolen words which they overhear when they listen, peep, and wait above in the branches... They are without leaders... They boast and chatter and pretend that they are great people about to do great affairs in the jungle, but the falling of a nut turns to laughter all is forgotten, "(Kipling 60)      In a story filled with animals, Rudyard Kipling does a fabulous job giving the characters human-l...
